Founded in 2016, THE WADE ASIA was born out of a vision to bring visibility, voice, and validation to women-led narratives in the world of architecture and design. What started as a platform to recognize talent has today grown into a dynamic movement that champions inclusion, innovation, and inspiration across disciplines.

The ArchiDesign National Design Competition at THE WADE ASIA is the only competition in the world where several thousands of women-led projects are submitted, hundreds are showcased live. All the entries are judged and debated openly by the finest leaders—over three intense days—making it the biggest and most influential women-centric design competition globally. Exhibition of projects is for four days.

This competition dedicated to women in architecture and interior design is held annually during THE WADE ASIA Architecture Event.

Press Release, September 5, 2025, New Delhi: The ArchiDesign National Design Competition, the flagship of THE WADE ASIA, concluded in New Delhi from 21-24 August 2025 in New Delhi India with an extraordinary display of scale, talent, and transparency—cementing its stature as the largest competition for women in design and architecture in the world.

The ArchiDesign National Design Competition at THE WADE ASIA is the only competition in the world where several thousands of women-led projects are submitted, hundreds are showcased live. All the entries are judged and debated openly by the finest leaders—over three intense days—making it the biggest and most influential women-centric design competition globally. Exhibition of projects is for four days.

It takes place concurrently with main THE WADE ASIA Architecture Event, MATECIA Exhibition and India Furniture Conclave, that attracted more than 55000 visitors from all over India and 14 other countries. Dr Kiran Bedi, India’s first woman IPS and Former Governor Puducherry; Actor Randeep Hooda and Aurora Russi, Deputy Ambassador from Embassy of Italy graced the mega event.

From 21st to 23rd August 2025, the competition ran for three intense days, across seven simultaneous presentation rooms, covering 25 diverse categories of architecture and interior design. Over 200 shortlisted projects were presented LIVE before audiences, creating an open and democratic platform for learning, recognition, and exchange.

This rare format—open jury sessions accessible to all—set a new global benchmark for transparency and knowledge-sharing.

WADE’s 25 Jury Sessions become MasterClass for 3 days

The ArchiDesign National Competition by THE WADE ASIA has always been more than about awards—it is about visibility, mentorship, and community.

1. When does the submission for entries start?

The submission for the ArchiDesign National Competition opens every year on International Women’s Day, 8th March.
👉 The next cycle will begin on 8th March 2026.

2. How long does the submission period remain open?

The submission window usually closes on 31st May every year. In some cases, the deadline may be extended by a few days to accommodate participants who could not submit within the official period.

3. I work in partnership with my father/brother/male relative. Am I still eligible?

Yes. You may apply if you have made a significant and well-defined contribution to any project. Your partner must attest or approve your role in the project.
⚡ Please note: THE WADE ASIA strongly encourages women who have played a major role in the design to be the ones standing on stage, presenting live, and answering jury questions.

4. Can artists also apply in THE WADE ASIA?

Yes. WADE Asia celebrates art, photography, and painting by women alongside architecture and design.
* There are two categories for painting: Amateur and Professional.
* If you practice art as a hobby and do not sell commercially, you may apply under the Amateur category.

5. What are the main reasons for rejection of an entry?

Some entries are rejected at the preliminary screening stage due to:
* Incomplete forms or missing details.
* Mention of names or identifiers (such as project name, firm name, or architect’s name) in submissions.
* As per competition guidelines, projects must remain anonymous during evaluation to ensure fairness.
