The house by the pond
The primary purpose of the house is to help the inhabitant’s relax and rejuvenate; therefore the entire house has been designed with this point of view.
The rooms and fenestrations have been planned and designed to increase the quality of views, light and wind movement. The house has been designed to have a view of the pond from almost every room along with other man made features.
Three parallel interconnected concepts were conceived and this helped in designing the entire house including the massing. This project explores the principle of “the capability of architecture to act as an emotional catalyst” along with the concepts of the Genius Loci and Architectural invisibility.
The concepts were executed with the help of the layout, orientation of the house, the fenestrations and by reducing the number of walls and changing its dimensions. This approach helped in enhancing the views of the site and creating a relaxing environment for its Inhabitants.
