Often called as the Bamboo lady of India, Manjunath is a renowned architect, planner, activist and theoretician based in Bengaluru. Her work is distinguished for the use of low energy materials with special emphasis on Bamboo. Not only has she used bamboo in her projects, but has inspired many others through her untiring promotional activities towards endorsing it. With her practice Mansaram Architects, which she started in the year 1991, Ar Manjunath has done several projects of national and international repute. She is the Founder and Managing Trustee at Centre for Green Building Materials and Technology, Bangalore. She was also the Co-Convener and Co-Chair of Technical Committee, International Bamboo Conclave 2014. Her nomination for Aga Khan Award for Architecture 2013 for designing own office project, “Bamboo Symphony” is highly coveted.
