It is a great honour for WADe to receive messages from world’s top women architects & designers. They are the role models who are loved for their work and commitment.
Studio Gang, office of World’s leading women architect Jeanne Gang, based in Chicago and New York, wrote to WADe, “WADe has put together an impressive roster of speakers and jurors and we applaud your efforts to build up a platform for women in architecture and design.”
The ‘WADe Awards’ is a great initiative to showcase the capability and the design talents, says International architect Tan Pei Ing, Past President of ARCASIA.
In her special message to WADe she wrote, “The WADe event, with the assembly of Women Architects and Designers from all over India and representations from South East Asia is very appropriate and timely. WADe will also serve as excellent avenue to inspire the younger generation.”
She believes that with the right encouragement and opportunity provided, the contribution by the women architects and designers would be most valuable and immeasurable.
With a promise to be with us next year, Ar. Yasmin Shariff, Honorary Secretary, Architectural Association and National Counsellor RIBA has sent her love for all of you. She is currently based in London as Director of Dennis Sharp Architects.
Yasmin congratulated WADe Asia for putting together such a key initiative that enables women to come together professionally and personally.
“WADe is an opportunity to make a difference and I strongly encourage you to collaborate and highlight the talents of women in Asia and to nurture your own talent. Be generous and kind, mentor and support and most of all value your own gifts and talents so that you have the courage and confidence to make a world that you can truly be proud of,” she stressed.
Syed Fawad Hussain and Leena Hassan has sent love from Pakistan. They said WADe seems not only interesting but very, very important initiative. They were eager to participate but due to Visa issue, unfortunately, they could not.
Last but not the least, here is the quote from one of Asia’s favourite Role Model Architect, Angelene Chan, CEO of DP Architects, Singapore.
Angelene Chan is the only woman CEO out of the top 5 architecture firms in Singapore. She has shared a beautiful message for WADe Women.
“The privilege to sculpt the landscape and mould the built environment that we live in is very meaningful and rewarding. While it is challenging to juggle professional demands and our multiple roles as mother, wife, daughter, sister; it is not impossible. Follow your heart and do not be afraid to ask for support.”
