We conceived laser cut patterns in all the rooms , as a concept behind the design of this triplex. The project is completely according to vastushastra . Another idea of the project is all bed back drops are clad with designer tiles. The constant element in all our project is to extend the concept used in a room, to its bathroom. Hence bathrooms designed by us never look like bathrooms but they are luxury rooms.
One of the challenges while planning the triplex was connecting the three floors internally without showing dead lift faces. To accommodate the lift in the common, area slabs of two level were cut after consulting a structural designer. Lift Is not a conventional one, it is customized with transparent glass enclosure, this made it sure that this becomes a feature in the common area.
The beam layout and depth of the beams was another hindrance while planning and clubbing functions.
The huge & numerous beams running thro the rooms actually compelled us to think differently, so that they were camouflaged and not read.
The client did not give us any specific brief, he just mentioned the functions which he wanted to be accommodated in his triplex. They wanted a separate study room for their kids, styling area, a yoga room and a Jacuzzi. A theatre area was a must according to the client’s occupation.
The living room has a leafy laser cut pattern on the veneer with inlay of a lighter veneer. The same pattern is engraved on the powder room tiles, and the same pattern continues on the glass doors of the study and kitchen. The dining table stands on a single inclined support only, with the same leafy pattern engraved on its glass top and back painted in yellow.
The study room has white cork as a pinup panel and a sunboard print panel forms a back drop for the study table. The same print was replicated on a film and applied on the book store. The son’s room has a cricket theme on his dressers. The white and grey wooden tiles used on his bedback have been carried inside the bathroom with a red basin on the counter to compliment the red touches in his room in the form of shelves.
The daughters room has metallic grey tiles on the bed back in checkered pattern with level differences. The pattern in which the wine color furnishing is stitched gives a feminine touch in that room. The same tile used on the bed back is continued in the bathroom with a wine colored Palladio tile. Steel laminate is laser cut in autumn leaf’s shape and used on storage shutters. The master bedroom has a huge beam running right thro the centre of the room, here a genuine wooden flooring is used as a backdrop of the the bed and the same is being continued in the ceiling in such a way that the beam cuts thro the ceiling and the pattern on the ceiling just does not seem objectionable. Again the cladding tiles used in the bedroom extend in the bathroom.
The master bed bathroom is ‘L’ shaped and the entry is relatively narrow, but the counter & storage is been merged in a manner to enhance the beauty and become a feature of this bathroom its been achieved simply by adding a corner niche at the junction of the counter and storage unit.
The yoga room is fully wall tiled on 3 sides and has large mirror to multiply the visual area. Theater is just a miniature version of actual size theater with acoustical boards used in panel form to create an interesting flowing pattern on the walls with various levels and color changing led strips installed in the panels.
The terrace has artificial lawn installed and has a planter body cum seating at the periphery. It has a huge Shankar Parvati art work in fiber done on the dead wall available in the terrace with a mood lighting incorporated which mesmerizes one in the evening.
