“Charles Darwin said that it’s not the strongest of the species, nor the most intelligent survive but it’s actually the one that is most adaptable to change. So if you think about that and if at a point of time in our lives we are not willing to change, we are not talking about sustainability any more, we are talking about survivability that’s where our species is at this point because we have pushed technology boundaries to such an extent that time changing is something so real it is hitting in your face every day” said Pavitra, keeping a point.
“We have education, we have health and we have parameters that talk about infrastructure but nothing talks about what it means to have a dream sustainable initiative in terms of sustainable innovation.”
“How does an Architect or someone who understands sustainability bring these into practice” she asks. “We are working on several projects which including smart city, and when you look at what that means for the growth of our country and how they are handled it’s quite frightening and that’s what makes me angry. So, you think about it and we start working on some smart city for several cities in the South” she said.
“We are Sustainable builders and believe a lot in the Indian culture. So yes we are culturally sensitive, holistic, green practice. So when you start looking at our smart city mandates, it’s flag kind of array of things which we can choose around so we have good water, we have electricity, we have waste management’s, IT, digitalization, connection with people and people governance” she said on the pre-requisites for a smart-city. “We have sustainable environment which is kind of overall embroidery which takes care of everything. We have education, we have health and we have parameters that talk about infrastructure but nothing talks about what it means to have a dream sustainable initiative in terms of sustainable innovation,” she added.
